A University of Edinburgh spinout
Exergy3 is a University of Edinburgh spinout that has developed modular renewable energy storage. The initial commercial application will enable decarbonisation of industrial high temperature processes that account for 60% of global CO2 emissions.
Exergy3 hare developed grid scale ultra-high temperature energy storage that can store green electricity when available in excess of demand, store it at temperatures of 1,200 degrees Celsius and feed this heat directly into a client process at the required temperature and pressure. The Company’s solution has potential to be highly efficient, comparatively simple to implement, durable and cost effective.
With the pre-Seed fundraise alongside a significant government grant, the Company completed and commissioned a full-scale commercial demonstrator at a Scottish distillery, validating the technology and its scalability. The team have recently raised a Seed round which will enable them to secure their next customer site and scale the technology for decarbonisation across the UK and Europe.
